Welcome to our Website
Nankana Sahib is a city and capital of Nankana Sahib District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is named after the first Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak, who was born in the city and first began preaching here. Today it is a city of high historic and religious value and a popular pilgrimage site for Sikhs from all over the world. It is located about 80 km (50 mi) west of Lahore and about 75 km (47 mi) east of Faisalabad. The city has a population of approximately 70,000
The statistics show that there were nearly 200 Gurdwara’s in Pakistan but unfortunately the partition of India changed the landscape of Sub-Continent and naturally the natural existence of Sikh Religion in today’s Pakistan is affected. The most of Gurdwara’s are located in Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sialkot was the most populated area for Gurdwara’s in this part of world.
The current government of Punjab is keen to restore Sikh Heritage in Punjab but I would fully justify that the central government of Pakistan is equally working hard to develop this valuable heritage of Pakistan, especially Punjab Evacuee Trust Board is aggressively active for this noble cause.
